  • Condition: Very Good Trimmed Folded Condition. Partially trimmed top white border. Remnants of glue spots where snipe was probably attached in top border. A few small pinholes in the white borders. A tax stamp affixed in right center above girl's head. Overall yellowing of paper. Originally folded as issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 20 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.

    Here is an original Belgian movie poster from the late 1940's re-release of the big budget RKO production of
    The Last Days Of Pompeii
    . Very loosely based on the Edwin Bulwer-Lytton novel, this movie starring Preston Foster and Basil Rathbone was part historical / biblical epic and part disaster film. This poster is from the 1st rerelease of the film in Belgium in 1949. It features striking artwork of Mount Vesuvius erupting and wreaking havoc on the citizens of Pompeii. This beautiful artwork is unique to this Belgian re-release poster and it doesn't come up for sale or auction very often.
