This is a vintage original 14x22 in. Belgian poster from the classic 1940's World War II comedy adventure,
AIR RAID WARDENS
, released in 1943 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and
directed by Edward Sedgwick
. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy co-star as t
wo bumblers, failures as businessmen and air raid wardens, who stumble upon a nest of Nazi saboteurs bent on blowing up the local magnesium plant.
This vintage original poster was printed for a theatrical release in Belgium in the 1970's and features beautiful artwork depicting air raid warden Stanley (
Stan Laurel
) blowing his whistle as Oliver (
Oliver Hardy
) plugs his ears and grimaces. The colors are terrific and features shades of rich black, medium blue, and a bright orange background for the credits area. Measuring 22x14 in., this vintage original poster is unrestored in good+ condition with a light vertical fold down the center; a 3.5 in. tear in the top left corner that goes into the blue background area; multiple creases in the top border; a 1.75 in. horizontal tear on the right border below the top border; random small creases in the bottom border; a light 9 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner; a 2 in. and 1.25 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner itself; and signs of wear on the left border. The color tints are fresh and vibrant
without
any signs of fading.
